While it can serve as a good\u00a0<strong>Notepad replacement<\/strong>, it also offers many powerful features for Web page authors and programmers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">&#8211; <a title=\"Edit Plus\" href=\"http:\/\/www.editplus.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/www.editplus.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have been using this editor since starting to program back in 2001. \u00a0This editor has met all my needs and wants. \u00a0I have not found any other editor that has <strong>all<\/strong> of the following features:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ctrl-click &#8211; highlights the whole word<\/li>\n<li>Right click on a file and have the option of opening it in Edit Plus<\/li>\n<li>Simple FTP setup and connection<\/li>\n<li>Easy syntax highlighting plugins<\/li>\n<li>Word\/character change case\/etc<\/li>\n<li>Brace highlighting<\/li>\n<li>Starts up in 1 second or less.<\/li>\n<li>Efficient Find All in files.<\/li>\n<li>Free*<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[typography \u00a0size=&#8221;10&#8243; size_format=&#8221;px&#8221;]*technically it is not a free editor, but the 30 day trial expiration does not prevent you from using it over 30 days. \u00a0I will pay them some day&#8230;. Note: newer versions may not allow this.[\/typography]<\/p>\n<p>One of the best features that is in Edit Plus is the Find All in files. \u00a0This feature is in many other editors, but the speed of this feature in Edit Plus stands out. \u00a0When tracing new code you want to be able to find specific words in many files as fast as possible. \u00a0Edit Plus allows you to do this without having to break your train of thought.<\/p>\n<p>Another feature that stands out is the Ctrl-click feature. \u00a0This is also available in MS SQL Management Studio. \u00a0Holding down the control button while clicking on a word highlights the whole word. \u00a0When you need to copy paste a word, you simply hold down ctrl, click, click to your destination, press v (ctrl-v). \u00a0The alternative would be double-click, click to your destination, press ctrl-v. \u00a0Not very different, but if you copy-paste frequently, it makes a big difference.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_genesis_hide_title":false,"_genesis_hide_breadcrumbs":false,"_genesis_hide_singular_image":false,"_genesis_hide_footer_widgets":false,"_genesis_custom_body_class":"","_genesis_custom_post_class":"","_genesis_layout":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[7],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.3 -
